The Maricopa County Community College District

Often described as one of the largest higher education systems in the world, the Maricopa County Community College District is a complex system comprised of 10 colleges, two skill centers and numerous education centers serving the Phoenix metropolitan area. The Maricopa system is somewhat unique in that although each college is individually accredited, each entity is tied to the larger system through processes, policies and a single Governing Board.

The Maricopa County Community College District serves the needs of almost four million residents with more than 260,000 full-time and part-time credit and noncredit students enrolling each year. The District employs 8,281 people:

  • 1,457 full-time faculty
  • 4,358 adjunct faculty
  • 383 administrators and managers
  • 2,083 support staff
